Recently seen on Taylor Swift and worn by Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada 2, the T-bar necklace is an empowered style statement. Rooted in masculine codes, it has been reinterpreted to assert power quietly.
Crafted in France and made to order, our version of the T-bar necklace is adjustable in length, offering multiple ways to wear it depending on your mood or styling.
The clasp positioned above the T-bar opens, allowing the pendant to be fully detachable, so the chain can also be worn on its own.
Originally a functional element of men’s pocket-watch chains, the T-bar was designed to slide through a waistcoat buttonhole, anchoring a chain securely while the watch rested in a pocket. As more practical wristwatches replaced pocket watches in the 1920s and 30s, women adopted these cast-aside T-bars, transforming a utilitarian detail into a symbol of modern independence and understated authority.
Worn alone as a sculptural focal point, layered with charms, or styled longer with pearls or other chains, the T-bar is an everday wardrobe go to piece - confident, timeless, and deliberately restrained.
This version in vermeil features an 18k yellow gold plating (3 microns) over sterling silver. But all material variations are available on request.
